Fringe - Season 4 Episode 9 'The Enemy of My Enemy'

First of all, Sub Basement Level 2 has too many maintenance closets. Not sure how many maintenance closets Sub Basements usually have, but even if the answer is "several" I would think they would be spaced apart to some degree. Anyway...Spoilers ahead!

I loved this episode, lots of twists and great character development. New Walter had all of the most heartwarming moments, and Jones had me Jonesing for more. Cough. Pretty much anytime Peter talked, other Broyles got that "OH CRAP" expression. Very satisfying. Peter put it best, "I'm not a variable he was planning on." This episode kind of had the same function as this week's Person of Interest, but interestingly enough, Fringe had me more Interested. Of course Nina Sharp is teamed up with Jones! I'm waiting to find out if Other Broyles is a shapeshifter as I suspected though... Every move Jones made had me saying, "Well done, sir." Especially the money thing. Although, the cleverness can mostly be attributed to Other Broyles being a dirty rat.

Still, if the villain didn't succeed some of the time, there would be no raising of the stakes!" Oh, ew" moment, when the person in the hospital pressed their hand against the window and their skin peeled off like some Cake Boss fondant. Gross. It was cool seeing everyone around the table towards the end. I can't help but to think about how they shot these things, and having Walter in the middle with a shiny table must have been tricky as hell. Well done production and post-production team! And as far as practical effects, the sawed off SUV was pretty cool. Not so much... the shapeshifter Jones killed in its tube, melty face looked a bit cheesy. Melty cheesy. As always, can't wait until next week! Thanks for reading!
