Shameless - Season 2 Episode 2 'Summer Loving'

Another episode of the best non-scifi show on TV that isn't Breaking Bad or Justified! Some spoilers ahead...Overall, not quite as good as the last episode, but still pretty good. Seeing more from Carl than usual was pretty cool. I think what made the episode drag a bit was all the focus on non-main characters in two storylines. Also there was a whole lot of bummer and not enough fun, so I guess it wasn't necessarily worse than last week, just not as fun.My favorite lines:

• "Not with all the king's vaseline!"
• "Touching it IS his treat."
• "Old people excursion day? YAY!"

The sprinklers going off at the baseball field was pretty funny.One thing that drew me out of the show was Carl playing with hairspray and a lighter. I can't remember the show having any digital effects before, so it was just kind of weird.Funniest image of the episode, Frank perched on the toilet as he plunges it.I'm pretty sure I'm going to use that technique the next time I'm up against a clogged toilet.Mickey makes a solid security guard, and I enjoyed that scene, but we don't really see how Linda is reacting to the whole Kash bailing situation.Anyway, looking forward to the next episode! I hope it's a bit less of a downer.
